Video requests on stream for Twitch channel points

A viewer spends channel points and sends a YouTube or VK link. Koster checks the video, puts it in the queue and plays it in a player on your OBS scene. Koster creates the Twitch rewards itself, and refunds the points if a video doesn’t qualify or fails to start. Donation service support is planned.

How it works

  1. Set up rewards

Name, cost and maximum video length. You can have up to three rewards, say cheaper for short videos and pricier for long ones.

  2. Add the player and dock to OBS

The player is a Browser source on your scene, the dock is a request control panel inside OBS.

  3. Open requests

Koster creates the rewards on Twitch and viewers start requesting. You can close requests any time.

What it does

  • Checked before the queue

Broken links, live streams, 18+ videos and videos longer than the reward allows never reach the queue, and their points are refunded right away.

  • Moderation

Manual approval of every request, a minimum view count, blocked channels and title words, and viewer bans.

  • Queue limits

How many videos and minutes can wait in the queue, and how many requests one viewer can have waiting.

  • Replies in chat

Koster tells the viewer the request was accepted or explains why the points came back.

  • Player on your scene

Full screen, in a corner or centered, with a “requested by” tag and a progress bar. Volume is set in the settings.

  • OBS dock

Pause, skip, seek and approve requests without leaving OBS.

  • Fair refunds

If a video fails to start or plays less than halfway, the points come back on their own. After three failed starts in a row the queue pauses.

  • Request history

Replay a past video or refund its points within a day.

  • Planned: donations and music

Video requests through donation services into the same queue, and song requests.

FAQ

How do I set up video requests for channel points on Twitch?

Log in to Koster with Twitch, set up rewards under “Requests”, add the player to OBS and open requests. Koster creates the rewards on your channel, and viewers send links when they redeem.

Which links can viewers request?

YouTube and VK Video videos. Live streams and 18+ videos are not accepted.

What happens to the points if a video isn’t shown?

They go back to the viewer when you decline the request, when the video fails to start or when it plays less than halfway. The viewer gets an explanation in chat.

Do I need Twitch Affiliate or Partner?

Yes. Only Twitch Affiliates and Partners have channel points, so a points reward can’t be created without that status.

Can I review requests by hand?

Yes. With manual approval, a request waits for your decision on the site or in the OBS dock and joins the queue only once approved.

Can viewers request videos with donations?

Only with Twitch channel points for now. Donation service support is planned.
